How we track prices
Every few hours an automated collector reads the public product catalogs of 8 stores: REP Fitness, Titan Fitness, Fringe Sport, Bells of Steel, PRx Performance, Force USA, Major Fitness, PowerBlock. Each price is saved with the time we saw it. We started on Oct 20, 2026.
What the numbers mean
- Now: the price the store listed at the time shown beside it.
- Regular price: the store's own crossed-out "was" price. Stores set this themselves, so we show it but don't rely on it alone.
- Lowest recorded: the lowest price we have seen while the item was in stock, since we started tracking it. Prices seen only while it was sold out don't count, because nobody could buy at them. It is not an all-time low before our tracking began.
- Typical: the median daily price over the last 90 days. We show it only after 14 days of history, because a typical price from a few days of data would be misleading.
- Price range bar: a to-scale line that runs from a reference price on the left (the highest of the store's regular price, the typical price and the highest price we've recorded) to 60% below it on the right. The yellow arrow marks today's price, so the further right it sits, the deeper the cut. The solid steel tick marks the lowest recorded price and the dashed one the typical price. Every row uses the same scale.
- Cost per pound: price divided by the weight read from the product name, for plates, dumbbells and kettlebells only. When the weight is ambiguous we leave it blank.
What we don't do
- We don't publish reviews or star ratings we haven't earned, and we never invent urgency like countdown timers or "only 2 left".
- We don't include shipping or sales tax in prices. Each product page sums up the store's own shipping policy, with a link to it and the date we last checked it; the store's checkout has the final total.
- We don't let commissions change rankings. Deals are ordered by the size of the drop: by default, percent off times the square root of the dollars saved, so a deep cut that saves real money ranks above a big percentage on a cheap item or a small percentage on an expensive one. You can also sort by dollars saved or percent off.
Our collector (HomeGymForLessBot)
Our collector identifies itself as HomeGymForLessBot. It reads only public catalog data, checks each store's robots.txt before every run and stops if the catalog is disallowed, honors any Crawl-delay, and pauses between requests (at least 1.5 seconds). Store owners who want changes or want to be excluded can write to webmaster12310@outlook.com.
Corrections
If a price looks wrong, the store's page is always the source of truth. Tell us at webmaster12310@outlook.com and we'll look into it.
